anyone have a 54mm throttlebody?
Re: anyone have a 54mm throttlebody?
I run one. I never had a 52 though. I just was a cam only car with a stock thottle body. I put the 54mm on with a couple of other mods. The car went from 12.20's to 11.80's. I also changed gears and trans though. I would say it depends on your setup to notice the change from a 52 to a 54. If the motor needs more air then you will notice if not there will be no difference.

Your manifold only has 52mm inlets. If you wanted to use a 54 you would need to bore your manifold to get the gains. Plus, a bigger throttle body isnt going to help you any enless you have mods. I would say jump up to a 52mm throttle body when cam is installed among other things if you want to see some gains from it. It isnt needed but you will see better gains. I dont know what kina mods you have but I would say if you dont have headers and CAI or anything like that, I would put the money to better use. That is my opinion.

52mm is the best enless you have a real radical set-up.

well i have of course the 52mm - midlength headers-no cats -loud mouth exhaust. s-trim blower with 9-10 psi, having the heads ported-1.6 rockers/springs, maybe getting a blower cam that has a idle close to stock. have a bunch of other boltons but this gives ya the idea whether the 54mm would even do anything for me? could i port my 52mm into a 54?
