Don't think you can just replace the spring anyway, more like the whole regulator. There have been those that have done it (not me, personally). It's a bit of a hassle to get all the stuff fished out of the door. You will have to drill out the big rivets holding the regulator on the door.

me and my buddy did it on his 98 Z28, it was pretty straight forward, probably took about 3-4 hours. Email me if you have ?'s
