Any way to have a quiet valve train with 1.6 rr's?
Perry93TransAm,
That is exactly the info I was looking for. So all full rollers make extra noise to a certain extent, and the roller tip rockers were pretty quiet? Those were the Comp Cams roller tipped right? 1.6 ratio?
Any problems fitting a spring under the roller tipped rockers? I'm not sure exactly what spring I would need for the CC502, but the lift is .528/.535 with 1.6 rockers.
Any problems that you see going to 6000 rpm with the roller tipped rockers, or is it a non issue.
Thanks again.

I had the 1.6s first on the stock cam then later on the cc305 that was in my 93 T/A. I would recommend the stock springs to be upgraded at least to the crane kit. The pressures are decent but good for mild cams. I reved the cc305 w 1.6 comp roller tips to 6500 regularly.

I take mine to 6200+ and don't have any problems w/ the CC roller tipped 1.6 rockers. I wouldn't recommend the stamped 1.6 rockers, I'd at least go with the Comp Cam Magnum 1.6 rockers. They're $100 cheaper than the pros, and still serve a good purpose, and mine are very quiet.
That is GREAT news. I know full rollers are better from an overall friction standpoint, and maybe some stability, but if the roller tipped rockers hold up to 6200 RPM, then I'm perfectly happy. I'm not going to rev it any higher than that.
They must be pretty good considering that even the stamped stock ones seem to last 150,000+ miles. I know that the stock redline is only 5700, but they still seem to last pretty well.
Do you need guideplates with the CompCam's Magnum Roller Tipped rockers or the Crane Roller tipped rockers? I think I saw self aligning ones, but haven't seen non self aligning.
