almost got beat by a near stock TA?
Call GMR and get a dyno tune. The guy they use (Steve) is very smart, and helped me out with my car many times. Chances are if you have a problem, he will be able to diagnose it for you. If you think there is something wrong, stop reving it past 6K. Way rich or way lean is trouble.

pulled a few plugs...theyre pretty black. Im replacing them with ngktr55's today, and my cai finally came in yesterday...i am sending the pcm out to ion as soon as i get paid. It still has the stock wires on it (although they are pretty new, about 5k miles on them). Is it worth replacing them since im doing the plugs anyways?

526 SS 96,
The high knock count was still there even after the race fuel, verifying that it was indeed false knock. Also if you are thinking of wiring out the knock sensor on your car your sensor will have a different resistance. Yours being a 96 with obd2 has a different value that it tells the pcm for 0* degrees. My fathers car (1996) has this done also just make sure its not real knock. This has been done on my car for 30,000 hard miles. You can do a search to find out what resistance you need for your OBD2 car. Also that solid roller combo you have is just awesome, I want to go solid next round of mods. Your car being solid roller would benefit from the knock sensor being wired out unless you already have your PCM tuning it out.

Wish I would have done solid roller
