Smile 95 Z28 vs 97 supercharged cobra

Hey, I've got a friend who owns a 1997 supercharged cobra and brags about its 413 rwhp, I've got a bone stock lt1 z28, what can I do to improve it so that I can blow him away?

I want to stay away from nitrous and forced induction.

I really appreciate any help.

The guy I bought the car suggested I put hotcams, slp exhaust, and slp intake on it - any estimate on how much I'd have to do after that?

The hotcam kit sucks. Your going to need a good heads/cam setup + all the supporting mods and a good tune to have a chance at beating him.

AI heads/cam/headers/tune/tires/supporting mods and (assuming you can drive) you will smoke the Cobra.

Going fast isn't cheap. The Cobra owner knows that too, I guarantee it.

That's okay by me, he's a bit of a jerk, he kind of holds his super charged cobra over all of us in our circle of friends, despite paying all of his income for it and still living at home with his parents.

Your LT1 engine only has one cam

Nitrous is the way to go even though you said you didn't want it. Ask Me how I know?

Strap a bottle on it. My car has bolt ons and on a 125 shot i pull hard on my friends 07 supercharged/6 speed converion/bolt on/4.10 GT. Hes puttin down almost 450. Those things put down good numbers with blowers, but there torque sucks!

I'm not saying it can't be done with ported heads, a decent cam, and a little work to the intake. But take a stock LT1 with 150 shot and it will put down the same horsepower numbers as that 97 mustang with more torque.

Not trying to start anything just stating my opinion.

Lots of money for a stout N/A motor, or a big shot of nitrous and some sticky tires.
