95 z28 auto camaro electrical issue

95 z28 auto camaro electrical issue

I was driving this evening voltage dropped but not all the way, dash dimmed, speedo gauge went all over the place, abs inop, brake, and tsr came on I made it home **** it off popped the hood couldn't see any immediate issues got in started it back up it took a few seconds to get back running then the rps hovered around 2k any ideas as to what this could be and how to fix would be greatly appreciated (didn't loose any power)

What voltage does the dash gauge show? Very low voltage can affect the PCM's ability to run the engine. Is the SES light on? Was the serpentine belt intact, not slipping?

voltage showed just above the 8, ses light did not come on, serpentine belt was intact i cant vouch if it was slipping or not

id verify at least 13.5 volts coming out of the alternator, and check for similar voltage at the positive side of the battery. also verify you have good ground at the battery as well. sounds like youre gonna need a new alternator, either that or belt tension is not there

Anything below 8.0 volts is going to trigger DTC 50 for low voltage at the PCM. Below that level the PCM can malfunction. Sure sound like post #4 is the way to go.
