im pretty sure both have 4 chan. abs. a manual rear would come with 3.42 stock and auto would be 3.23.maybe somebody else could confirm the 3-4 chan abs thing?

Yes wont matter if its manual or auto, if you have the 2:73's to start off with and your putting in the 3:73's then you would have the rear end shop put more shims or something i forgot what they do, but if your car came with the 3:23's and your putting in the 3:73's its a direct swap. I had 2:73's in my 6speed and went to 4:10's makes a world of difference.

Wouldn't this depend on if one of the cars had traction control?

If both cars did not have traction control then you could swap the rears back and forth all day long and not have any issues.
The only thing that comes to mind is programming the PCM for the gear change.

I swapped a four channel into my non TCS car. It took a little creativity to reconfigure the brake lines to a 3 channel setup, but it performs flawlessly now.

Tunercat has nothing to do with the brake system. The ABS uses a separate computer that Tunercat does not talk to.
What you need to find out is if both cars have traction control or not. If both do (or do not) have it, then you have no problem.
