Confusing.... 5 days ago you were installing the 383 ci Gen 1 SBC in a 96 4th Gen.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/lt1...-350-a-880900/

In order to determine what stall you need, we need info about the engine - what kind of HP/torque, at what RPM? What are the cam specs? 2,500 stall isn't that much higher than the stocker, and doesn't seem right. What rear axle ratio will you be running? How will you control the electronically shifted 4L60E in the 94?

Re: 94 z28 engine swap 1 gen

I plan to use Shift Boss Trans Programer .When i got the engine the guy said to use 2500 stall converter at the time i had 373 gears turbo 350 trans i was going 80 mph at 4000 rpm it red line at 6000.Now i started looking at the mounts from the 94 and they are off set from the mounts on my motor 3 in. is there a certain year mount that will work or am i going to have to make some? I am going to pick up a dummy small block tonight to see how it sets .If someone has already done this and there is a mount i could buy that would be wounder full .Thanks for the input

The 4L60E has a steeper (3.06:1) 1st gear tha the TH350 (2.52:1). It's also not as strong in stock configuration, but can be built to handle fairly high HP.

BMR makes a tubular K-member that will accept the Gen 1 mounts:

KM005 - K-member, SBC/BBC Motor Mounts, Standard Rack Mounts | 1993 - 2002 F-Body | K-Members | BMR Suspension - High Performance Suspension & Chassis

Not sure how many people here have done the Gen 1 into 4th Gen swap. More information here:

The 93-97 PCM needs the input from the LT1's Optispark distributor in order to operate. If you install a carb engine, since it's a Gen1, it's going to have a conventional HEI distrbutor, mounted to the rear of the intake manifold. Difficult to fit under the cowl. Typically you lose the windshield wipers, no big deal for a track car. Then there's the issue of the intake manifold, carb and air cleaner -may require a cowl hood. Look at the photos in the link I posted.

4th Gen's have a high pressure in-tank fuel pump. Carb needs a low pressure fuel supply.

Lots of obstacles.

What kind of HP does this 383 make? An injected LT1 can produce 500HP at the flywheel with ported stock heads, matching cam, and stock rotating assembly
