94 lt1 swap in 97 car
I put a 94 motor and tranny in my 97 car with a 97 computer and wiring harness and everything seems to be working except I'm not getting any spark. Does the crank sensor have to be plugged in or should it still fire without it? If it should still fire, what wires to the coil should be hot? Thanks.
What did you do about the Opti harness plug? The 94's unvented Opti uses a different length connector than the 97's vented Opti. You would need to change out the short Opti harness from the bracket on the side of the intake manifold to the Opti.
When you do get it running, the knock sensor will set a code, since the 94 uses the low impedance sensor and the 97 uses a high impedance sensor.
The crank position sensor is only used for misfire detection and should not stop the engine from starting.
