Sudden PCM death

I was driving in traffic about a week ago when my LT1 swapped RX7 suddenly died. I tried to start it a couple of times but would only get a few revolutions of the engine firing up without any throttle response and it would die again.

Towed the car home and tried to scan her with no luck. Autotap cant find the vehicle.

Swapped the PCM for a known good one and everything seemed fine.
Apparently the original PCM died while driving. Anybody have this happen?
