500 rwhp
can anyone give me a idea for a good setup for a high comp stroker, im looking to make around 500 at the wheels, is there anyone who sells a good 383 short block that will handle that kind of power, aslo i want to spray this motor, so the block has gotta be pretty bada$$. give me some insight as to some good internals to use, heads and cam, what to do with the intake, anything you guys can think of, money is no issue, but id like to hear any budget friendly setups. thanks.
Re: 500 rwhp
Forged, Forged, Forged. If money isnt an issue, especially if your spraying. The LE3 package is supposed to be a pretty bad-*** package. Youd need a pretty big cam and a heck of a port and polish job to hit 500rwhp. Have u ever thought of a blower???

go with a 383 and a set of afr 210s..not with their comp port..but by a good shop..then go solid roller..with a monster cam. youll be right around there. I know a 355 that makes 460 rw with a set of afrs...
Re: 500 rwhp
Yes get the AFR 210s and have them done by a competant porter, the port jobs that AFR does are marginal to what a good porter can whip out. My 190s gained leaps and bounds with little stuff like valvejobs and blending, Imagine if I dropped them off to a real head porter.
You'll need all forged rotating assembly with the least amount of friction in mind. Since youre gonna be n/a you can go with as long a rod as possible, the long rod will reduce youre piston crown thickness so keep that in mind if you plan on sparaying it. Is this motor going in a daily driver?

I would talk to Bauer Racing engines about doing aome AFR 215RR's, a converted SuperVic, and a solid roller valvetrain. Keep in mine, including building the engine, you will be lucky to get out of it for less than $12-15k

Re: 500 rwhp
what has more potential to make more power, a low comp motor w/ a power adder, or a bullit proof high comp stroker. i imagine that a low comp blower motor may have better driveability than a nasty n/a motor, but which is the more bang for the buck. like i said money is not going to be a prob, id like to have a really disgusting motor but i am realistic. keep the ideas coming im open to suggestion.
