This is just a very amazing car. Just well put together and thought out from one end to the other. The car is really flying and shows what somne well ported LT1 head can do on the right set up.

Jordon's 10.8@130 was a naturally aspirated pass. There are alot of people a few years ago that laughed at us for thinking we could go 130mph NA with a LT1.

As mentioned, Rick's car is a very good (and impressive) example of a well matched combination of parts.

Very nice That car/setup reminds me a lot of Ed Wrights...10.1 @ 132mph NA 383ci LT1, 4L60E, 3350 lbs, LT4 heads & intake, stock pcm, street legal, 500+ rwhp, etc.

Well, if you read his modification list, it's not very extensive. Some average Joe out there is reading Rick's mod list and saying, "Hey, that's easy enough; I'm going to do that." When all reality, it would be nearly impossible to replicate those results w/out a large chunk of money and more free time than most people will ever have to dial it all in. I'd like to see a sentence in the description of the car noting how many hours they've spent tuning on it and how many runs it's taken to dial the car in. That way, it would give an average person the idea of what kind of time/determination it takes to do something like this. The description just makes it seem too easy to achieve these kind of results. I guess that's all I really meant with calling it misleading.

It's pretty crazy - 138 mph? I think there's more to it than meets the eye here. That mph is Way high for a 9.9x pass. It means this car could be a 9.60 - 9.70 car at 138 - amazing!

I did read it, as well as Rick's page, and it says that repeating this will not be easy. I still miss the misleading part. Geez, if it were easy to do, everyone would have a low 10/high 9 second LT1.

Advertising... many people on this site and others think these "standard street port" heads will give them all the same results. Thats how heads sell. Like you said, there are alot things people need to consider when trying to achieve the level Rick has.

Re: 383, LT1 Heads/Intake, SR = 9.97@138+

I think his runs are pretty inline with Steve Q's but with an LT1 intake and way more weight. I'm also not sure what kind of transmission Steve Q was running but doubt it was a 4L60E like in Rick's car.

Here is Steve Q's run:
Steve Quinn
1995 Camaro Z28, 370ci LT1, Ported factory LT1 casting heads, w/ race wt @ 3052
¼: 9.713@138.16
1/8: 6.277 at 108.3
60ft: 1.271

I'm curious to see/hear what kind of 60 ft times Rick was cutting on these runs. Hopefully to car goes even faster.

Let's not bring up Denny McLain's car and his level or tweaking to get 44Xrwhp out of a set of LE2 LT1 heads. I believe he mentioned dozens of dyno runs and countless hours along with every trick in the book from oil to tires. His car made good power, but others made the same claims as are present here.

Give credit where it is due. If a newby had the money to build a 9 second car, they could reproduce this car with off the shelf parts and time/patience.

No one's not giving credit. Seriously, we're just talking about the idea someone gets when reading his description. They make it seem easier than it is. None the less, it's extremely impressive, as both of us have already pointed out.
