2.00/1.56 valves..... Question?
2.00/1.56 valves..... Question?
I've got a set of ferrea valves 2.00/1.56 valves laying around and wondering if it would be worth having them install in my stock heads? (561's) Heads are bone stock no porting at all, soo i'm not sure it if would help or hurt me.. I'll be running the CC306 as well on a 355 with around 11.6-1 compression.
I just don't have the cash for LE2's yet and trying to get the most out of what i have at the moment..
What do you guys think?

You're going to build a 355 and just put stock heads back on? You're going to be missing out on a lot with that cam and stock heads. You might see a little gain from the bigger valves, but it'll be nothing compared to the gain you'd see from even just the LE1 budget heads. I think Lloyd keeps stock size valves even on some LE2 heads, but I may be wrong. You can get great flow numbers with the stock valves. Keep saving some money or get the heads ported on credit and get whomever to do a valve job and install the valves.
I spent a little more getting ported heads and Manley 2/1.56 valves installed but I'm happy that I did it. Now I don't have to take the heads off again for a long time.

im interested in this question as well. while one might not see a noticeable gain, it would not hurt the motor right? i mean, if they heads are off and porting is too much money, and new valves are needed, should this be done?
It means getting a 3 or 5 angle valve job or even a full-radius job. I don't think you're going to see much if any gain from larger valves without porting. I'd put my money into a great port job than I would aftermarket valves.
