Crane gold RR's..

I got a good deal on a set of used crane golds so I bought them guy said they were in good condition so I said what the hell i bought them. So anyway they came today and about 5 of them have something that looks similar to these pictures I took, all the rest look fine. So my question is can I still use these they look a little banged up.

heres a pic of the one that looks the worst:

I wouldn't even think about putting those on my engine. Those washers are for self-aligning valves, and they are essential to keep the rocker aligned correctly.

Check with Crane's tech department, I think the SA RRs can be rebuilt (pin pushed out and the roller and washers replaced). Also, make sure the roller fulcrum shaft bearing spins free (no roughness, or binding). Also, Crane has an indiviudal roller-rocker part number they can give you so you can order the individual RRs.

You didn't mention if the Crane RRs are 1.6, or not. The 1.6 RRs typically give you an additional .030 lift at the valve (depending on the cam) and a really good performance gain.
