1LE Elbow Question

I just bought a SLP 1LE elbow and when I went to put it in today, I noticed something. Well the elbow goes from the Maf to the Throttle body, but there's another exit facing downard after the Elbow connects to the MAF. I noticed on the Stock It connected to a pipe and that was it. But on the SLP that exit is closed. So should I cut it open and connect it to plastic pipe or just leave it blocked like SLP. Thanx for all the help is advance.

Re: 1LE Elbow Question

naw man alot of people get the 1LE elbow to "delete" that pipe, or donkey-dick, because they put on an electric water pump, or to make space in the engine bay. That long pipe is just an air silencer, it really doesnt takeaway from the performance from the car by having it on there, its just an annoyance, thats why people get the 1LE elbow.

Re: 1LE Elbow Question

The whole point of buying a 1LE elbow is the fact that it doesn't have the opening in the bottom.

The oval hole in the bottom of the elbow will cause disruption in the air flow, that is why it is closed in the 1LE elbow.

Take the entire old elbow assembly off including the hard plastic tube. Install the 1LE elbow, you are done.

The hard plastic tube is a reasonator to tune the sound of the intake, you may get a droning sound, at some rpm's, from the intake with the 1LE elbow. That is the only downside of the mod.
