putting my car back together and want to do it right the first time. is there two small wires that go to the starter or is one a ground if so where is it grounded to?

The purple wire goes to the outside small terminal on the solenoid. There is a black/white wire in the same harness that goes to a ground lug on the block here. The only other wire going to the solenoid is the battery cable.
