just to add to the rear end discussion... My car which is a 95 bolt on only M6 had 4.10s in it. It lasted a couple months then grenaded. I went back to the 3.42s until I can upgrade. So coming from someone with a similar car as yours, definitely include a 9 inch or whatever rearend you choose in your price budget.
