1.7 Scorpions are in

I over nighted my 1.7's yesterday. Those things are huge . I had to clearance the stock valve covers, just in case. I used stock lenght pushrods, but harden ones from thunder. They have a rocker humm that can be heard from the other side of the traphic light . I adjusted and readjusted them three times. Twice 1/2 turn past 0 lash, then the third while the car was running, 1/4 turn after they shut up . The car pulls hard now 3500-5800. From what others have said they help alot and i should expect some better times or at least some mph. I will let ya know tomorrow after the track how much they helped.

Two weeks ago
Open Headers
13.3 @103.7
1.9 60ft

Last week
Headers and duals, with Ls1 ram air
13.1 @ 106.1
1.9 60ft

Estimated for tomorrow
1.7 RR, underdrive pulley, Retuning for the 1.7's
12.9 @ 108

Come on 12's. Its hard with an altitude of 3600ft, and a DA of 5500ft.

this is just to let eveyone else know, no problem yet, and she is faster

Re: 1.7 Scorpions are in

NOTE!!!!1

If you adjust the rockers loose, the poly locks/nuts will hit the bottom of the valve cover, some.

I had to bang the inside of the covers out some, just enough to clear. YOu could probly just adjust the rockers tighter, and you might not have any problems??

Jsut food for thought

I'm not sure if the lt4 covers are taller or not? You could adjust the rockers tighter than i did (1/4-1/2 turn past 0 lash) and they might not hit.

Sorry all i know is not enough
