At the bike rack or the flag pole?

Amen. I owned two V6 Firebirds and two V6 Camaros prior to getting my LS1. I'm just happy I have such an awesome car regardless of the badge that is on the doors.

I think it's stupid to make fun of someone for driving a Z28. Now making fun of people in Civics with wings and fart cans is another story

Re: Z28 vs SS

true that yo. hah.

i'm determined to get either a z-28 or an SS. i drove my brother's 99 C5 to my senior prom last night with borla catback. i crapped myself about 7 times. my 3.8 is moderatly modified. good for low 15's in the 1/4 mile.

having an ls1 f body is no longer a desire, or a wish. it's now a need.

So can I say that anyone who bought a SS = "I couldn't afford a WS6"?
Yes, Firebirds Originally retailed for 1.5k-2k more then the Camaro counterpart. Although that's half the cost of the SS package, it is possible that the WS6 was out of reach.

Or

IDK about anyone, but it's very likely especially when the lesser of the two talks trash about the higher one.

If money wasn't a issue; who wouldn't take a Z06 over a C5?

Well, more than likely the "who" would be more mature people. Perhaps ones who value the many electronics, toys/options, removable roof, etc., that you get on the C5 vs. the hardtop, stripped down Z06.

This kind of person is more than likely affluent, possibly a professional, and not out for face distorting acceleration or 1g+ skid pad type cornering.

I agree with most of what you said, but ZO6s aren't 'stripped down'.

Man, that really sucks. So that means I'm slower than a Z28 and barely faster than a GT in a stock SS car? I think not.

Well, we're talking semantics. Let's say compared to a fully optioned C5/C6, the Z06 is somewhat "austere" to say the least.

Well then that was a bad comparison because a SS is available with all Z28 options.

I guess that would be true, and then some.

In my own case, I wasn't hung up on the whole SS vs. Z/28 when I bought mine. I was going drag racing, and the IRS in the C5 was not something I wanted to deal with. The money was not the issue. To each his/her own.

Your inattention to detail continues.

The 'ol my friend post eh. I would play that card too seeing as how you can't hold a candle to my experience racing these cars. Keep talking chump. That's all you are.

I'm not missing the point. You've already admitted they handle better...what left is there to prove?

Of course they are two different cars, however, put an LS1 in the car (and a base Vette T-56) and add ~ 100 lbs. of weight to the car and all you have left is the fact that the ZO6 handles better. You have the same power/weight ratio and the same gearing. The ZO6 in this case STILL PERFORMS BETTER. It's not really this complicated.

OMFG you're an idiot. I made a distinction between track and roadcourse/autocross in EVERY POST I MADE. Show me where I failed to make this distinction. Please, show me. I'll be waiting for your response. Again, you're spewing BS. You have zero credibility and I'm sure everyone can see this. I'm waiting for you to show me where I failed to make the distinction between 'track' and roadcourse/autocross...

Holy ****, you're beyond retarded. You seriously need to go get an education. I didn't take any of your posts out of context. I didn't ask for an example of how I could have taken your posts out of context, I want to see a specific example where I DID take a post of yours out of context. Quote what you said, then quote what I said. C'mon you uneducated hill billy. Keep back pedaling.

Taking arguments out of context and ignoring your statements are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. You're a piece of work.

I only ignored it because I didn't totally agree with it. Good drivers can still launch SS/WS6 cars just as well. I cut 2.0x 60's in my car bone stock at our ****ty tracks. I wouldn't do, and infact didn't do, any better in a stock Z28.

I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but someone like you doesn't deserve it. You are so damn defensive it's ridiculous. I can agree to disagree, but it's obvious you can't. Your opinion means nothing

Or if you're the same driver on the same course... (read, not necessarily Michael Shumacher)

Do you know the scientific term control means?

Translation = "I couldn't afford the SS".

That is all.
I'll put my driving skill against your meager 400 track passes any day. All talk? You don't even know me, nor would I WANT you to know me. Keep stroking your ego, kid, I'm done arguing with your "tiny d!ck syndrome."

Let's go ahead and skip the z28 vs SS argument and get straight into your psychological dyfunctions. LOL You are clearly the type of person who gives "ss guys" the bad name. Particularly the parts where you lose your own train of thought, can't spew out any more meaningless garbage and resort to calling me names. Very juvenile, and you give ALL fbody drivers a bad name. I'm sure everyone can see that. I have no idea what I'm talking about? LOL keep thinking that junior, you're the one with the " my dad can beat up your dad" issues going on here. Me? I enjoyed filing the report against you. Enjoy the site while you still can, and have a nice day.

LOL If I wanted an SS, I'd have one. Trust me-- there's nothing you can put out there that will impress me.

LS1 ENGINE Tech.

Why does everyone seem to have such a hard time understanding what does and does NOT belong in a forum?

As for the name calling and threats..... some of you need a dose of Grow Up.
