Weiand/Lingenfelter intake
Weiand/Lingenfelter intake
I thought I might get a better response asking this question here than the apperance forum. I just received my Weiand/Lingenfelter intake the other day for my car and cant decide whether to get it polished or not. Im worried if I get it polished it might not look right in the engine bay since everything else in their is not polished as well nor do I plan on polishing anything else in their. I also want to know how you guys think by getting it polished would last be being subject to heat over a long period of time? Is it something thats gonna require taking care of alot or will it be fine by polishing it. Im also hoping to find some pics of this intake installed in a LS1 in polish form and not in polish form so I can get a visual on how everything will look when installed. Thanks
well, when you are done installing it, you will have to clean off the grease or dirt you go on it while installing.. now figure you will have to repeat that at least monthly to keep it gleaming.
Too much hassel IMO.. I dont like detailing the engine bay.. I prefer washing and waxing the car then going for a drive.. not spending another 30+ min making the engine look good when 99% of the people that do see my car only see the outside.

well i dont know if your ls1 looks exactly like mine or not but the sides of my heads are shiny as can be and im thinking of getting one and having it polished because im thinking of taking mine to a couple of shows and little stuff like that impresses people looking at them and as far as keeping it clean if you use a high pressure washer from a car wash and clean the compartment once a month it'll allways be clean and a little tip after you clean the engine compartment and its all dry take a can of tire wax and blast the engine compartment and you'll be amazed
