GM rules the automotive world. they pretty much own everything. It sounds like your torn between the two which is okay. to me it sounds like the perfect car for you is a Mustang. seriously, their not that expensive, they look nice, they're fast enough. But Fords are great cars for relibility as well. Atleast test drive one, see how you like it and consider it.

Buy the Z28 over the WRX for sure. But if you really want a turbo all-wheel drive car skip the WRX and wait for the Mitsubishi Evolution VIII set to arrive in January. A much better looking car, supposedly with 275 horsepower, AWD, 6 speed, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, bascially all the goodies. We still dont know the details for sure, but we do know it'll start arriving in January and it supposed to be less than $30,000.

This question answers itself. It should require no thinking...

if you feel like a "hick" driving a z, then go get yourself a wrx. all the chicks dig z's, now wrx's? its like a nerd car! my response is as stupid as your statement. (now had you said "gino" itd be a whole other story!) although the new wrx sti is coming this year or maybe next with about 300 or so ponies, so it may actually get into the camaro league. but lookswise, camaro all the way bro. did you know subaru gave the wrx a facelift in europe cause n one was buying it over there cause they think its ugly. fact buddy. and its still ugly. id put it in aztek territory of ugliness actually. and on a sidenote of buying american. fuji industries owns subaru . gm owns 50% of fuji industries. even though its not american made , its still owned by an american company. (im canadian by the way). so take it as you will. that part was irrelavant anyway. i say buy the wrx, and go buzz like a bumblebee and let the real men roar like lions. ciao.

If you need a picnic table for your days out, buy the WRX. That spoiler is also useful to stand on to reach things on high shelves. The WRX will outhandle a Z28 and her in the UK, that's a factor you take into account. Then you open your eyes and look at the ugly bug Subaru and think "No, I couldn't be seen dead in that" and the interior is crud. Buy a Z28. Never look back - if you do, you'll see the WRX trying to keep up. You'll also save a fortune on servicing and parts.

Well naturally the CZ28.com people unanimously support their cars, as do I. We're a captive autience here. I say this get the Z28 for performance bang for the buck. I paid $23K for mine and its loaded. It also runs ok, (see sig) I may add. I don't think a WRX will run those numbers in stock trim and it probably more money.

However I have never driven a WRX so I can't compare fun factor or image or appeal. Those are individual to yourself. But of the performance and value areas that we can compare the Z28 is the winner. Maybe thats a reason not to buy one, I don't know! Either way your in a good position!

Hey I don't know why you even asked that question. If you have to think about weather you want a z or wrx even for a split second you defineltly aren't worhty of owning in my mind the greatest american made muscle car. Just buy a Z28 or a t/a and you'll never regret it.

I've owned a dozen+ cars, import and domestic, including two Z28s (LT1 M6, LS1 M6), a Toyota Celica All-Trac (AWD turbo) and a Mazda GTX (AWD turbo).

the turbos were fun cars, great to blast around regardless of the weather, but the lack of torque is really annoying. I lasted ten years and went back to domestic....

If the turbos are fun, the Zeds are much more fun. Love the torque, the exhaust note, the M6 tranny. With the right tires and suspension tuning, the car will behave itself in the rain especially with the newer cars' ASR.

As for domestic vs import, I hear ya. My 1988 Mazda ran like a clock for 100K miles. My 2000 Zed stranded me more times in the first 6 months than all my other cars ever did. My 1981 Mazda GLC had better fit-and finish. My Zed needed repainting from the factory and the interior reassembled. The Mazda GTX came with factory Recaros. The junky Zed seats had to be tossed.

But it is a fun car for sure.
