I know this has been beat to death, but what is the current recommendation on plugs and wires? My car has about 80k, bought it used so I have to assume it has the original plugs (wires are stock); idle is a bit rough (I know LS1s always idle a little rough and the long tubes probably don't help).
I'm thinking of going with the Delco Iridiums because I don't want to change the plugs every 15,000 miles. I think there was a TSB for the LS1 to use iridiums at .040 instead of the original .060. I will probably also replace the wires because I've already had one crap out on me - I replaced that one with a crappy autozone wire because I needed to get it fixed that day - should I get a new set of GM wires or something else? Thanks.

Wal-mart plugs and stock wires.
Seriously, though. That's what I'm using and I make the numbers in my sig and have no problems with the car. Autolite 104s at .055" and stock wires. I've always used stock wires. There's no need to upgrade those.
Or you can use the NGK TR5s or something else recommended. Spark plugs don't do anything but emit a spark to start the combustion process. They really aren't rocket science.

Someone on another site used to sell 8 NGK TR55 plugs and a set of MSD wires for around $60 shipped. That's impossible to beat. Stock wires work fine, but the MSD wires are nice to have when you use headers because the boots can be bent to clear the primaries.
LS1s only have a rough idle because they had the wrong plugs from the factory. Gap was too wide. GM issued a TSB for this.

havn't priced them lately, but taylor spiro-pro wires used to be less than $50
and NGK tr55s were $2 each.
no need for a $8-10/plug ....$2/plug will work just as good.
and you can easily get good mileage out of them.
hell on my past two cars...both with platnums from the dealer...at 50K miles 4 of the 8 plugs on each car were missing the plat puck....so much for lasting 100K miles.
i'll stick with what works.
