P 1415 error code for 98 z28

P 1415 error code for 98 z28

hey guys need some help.i know this code is a bank 1 air code but do you know the cause it seems like it could be 50 different things.had a new air pump put on like a year ago

Perhaps the guys in the LS1 forum would have a better idea of something particular to that engine (you posted in the LT1 forum). It could be a valve on that system.

I'll move this to the LS1/..... forum for you.

That code sets because either one or both of the O2 sensors does not see the extra air that is supposed to be in the exhaust when the pump is supposed to be operating. The diagnostic looks at the O2 sensors in both open loop (startup) when the pump is operating, and in closed loop, by turning the pump on for a couple seconds to check for air flow.

You may have a damaged check valve in the system, a hole in a rubber hose, or some other item specific to the LS1 AIR system. Not likely that its a pump problem.

I had P1416 for bank 2 once, replaced the air check valve on that side (was clogged) cleared the code and hasn't come back.

Air check valve....driver's side I think?? I just had same problem. I purchased valve at Advance for $17. Had it on in 15 minutes.
