What do you consider a freak bone stock LS1 on the dyno? Where do you draw the line? 315 rwhp, 320 rwhp? There have been a number of LS1s dyno in this range, so are they all freaks? Does a 10-15rwhp variance make one car a freak? I agree there is going to be some variance, obviously. But to run around calling cars that trap 110-111 with lid/exhaust in -DA conditions freaks is a little far fetched.

Id say 325-330rwhp...

Re: Factory Freak?
Dyno numbers are even less reliable than track numbers ... I know of at least 2 dyno operators in my area that have "calibrated" thier dynos to pump up the numbers.
That and there are tricks you can do to pump up dyno numbers.
I've seen a number of dyno "freaks" that couldn't back it up at the track.
Every track freak I've seen was because of driver ... Even on an A4 I've seen as much a half second difference between drivers on the same track, same DA.

Well , I know of a guy with a 200 Formula..auto , stock , ran a 13.3-13.4 on average and managed to pull a 13.2 Bone stock .
What where your traps ?
My 99 TA ran a 13.2@108 Bone stock nursing it majorly off the line " 2.2 sixties" do avoid wheel spin . I coulda ran 12's bone stock .
Its more common then you think but its still a pretty damn fast car . Congrats!
Your trap times tell alot about your HP though...so what was your trap ?
I trapped a consitant 109 on street tires and ran a best of a 13.06@109 with a 2.2 sixties on street tires " Nursing once again"
Nice times . But factory freaks do exist .

I guarantee you if you lined up a bunch of bone stock LS1's with equal mileage on them, on the SAME dyno, SAME day, there would be differences of HP in the range of ~20 rwhp, no problem. ).

Agreed . My LT1 was kind of a freak self .
My first LT1 was as average as they came .My best friend had an LT1 that was Bone stock and My formula had less miles and a CAI ...Guess what ? He waxed me . Both where auto's . He'd walk me off the line and gain distance with every gear change .
All cars for some reason are not created equal .
Another example , my LT1 camaro had 3:23 gears in it ..it was a six speed . the previous owner put them in becasue he drove back and forth from mighigan for his Job .
I detroyed every other LT1 I raced mod for mod..It was a freak . And would easily run 13's stock .

In my case I trust my dyno operator, my rwhp matches my mph, and my car is by no means light. Fully optioned with leather and T-tops.
A shady dyno operator can be your worst nightmare... Im glad I have a good one.

I then proceeded to tell them to shove it right up their asses.
