Weird brake issue after reverse 180 turn.
It was wet out today, so I decided to go to my favorite local parking lot and do a little practice. I did the reverse 180 before, and decided to try it again, with good front tires this time.
I didn't get enough speed and ended up scrubbing quite a bit as it wheeled around. I dropped it in second and gassed it.
My radio died for a quick second and the lights went dim. I figure I almost stalled it since I probably bogged second by not spinning them. The big problem came next.
Right after I came out straight the alternator got taxed very heavily and the volts dropped to around 12, plus my abs inop light came on. I gave it some gas but it still didn't want to gain power. I thought maybe I had snapped the battery cable, but a few seconds later it came to life again. However, the abs inop light stayed on, as did the t/c off light. I couldn't bring it back on . A few seconds of driving later, and the brake light came on. I babied it home, and shut it down. I started it back up 5 minutes later and all seems fine.
What happened? I remember when I dynoed the abs inop light came on because the wheel sensors didn't match or something, but that went away in a few minutes. I also didn't have the brake light come on, nor do I remember my t/c being disabled too.

First off how do you figure that this is an LSx engine technical question?
Think about what's going on when you try to do these manouvres. You're purposefully trying to get the front and rear wheels to go at extremely different speeds and wonder why the ABS computer complains, when it's sole job is to monitor wheel speeds and do it's best to keep them the same.
When you want to go out and do stuff like this, pull the ABS fuse and turn the TCS off. They both fight against you for this kind of driving.
As far as the battery/alternator problem. You didn't over tax the system, you got the drive belt wet causing belt slippage. As soon as the belt dried then it went back to normal.

Brain fart. I was going to put it in the computer section since it was dealing with the car's nanny systems, but thought better of it and meant to put it in general. I put it in ls1 engine by accident.
Anyway, yeah I was hoping it had something to do with the wheel sensor. Like I said, I got an ABS inop light when I had my car dynoed. I didn't know what was going on but he explained to me how if the wheel sensors detect a massive differance between the two sets of wheels it will trip a trouble.
It went away with a few minutes of driving though, and the brake light didn't come on. This light stayed on for well over 15 minutes, disabled my attempt to turn back on t/c, and for the first few stops after I had started to drive away I had that prickly feeling in the brakes that comes from the pulsating during ABS activation.
Also, I have done that several times before and didn't have a problem.
Why would it fail after a spin? Shouldn't it attempt to stay on so that if you somehow come out of it without hitting something you can still come to a stop? It's like it just gives up.
Also, it was wet out, but I don't know how I could have gotten water on the belt. I also have a turn 1 pump so I don't have that boil over issue with the P/S like a stock car would.

ABS is only designed to maintain control in a straight line.
And you said:"It was wet out today, so I decided to go to my favorite local parking lot"
So I assumed that there was enough water down that you could have gotten some on the belt with a sideways slide of the front end.
