Vats question
Vats question
I am currently gutting my 93 TA. Just got rid of all the HVAC stuff and also all the power options. I am currently in the process of pulling all the unused wiring now. The one I am not sure about is the vats box.
Now I know you can program the vats function to be off in the program, but is the box still needed?

Re: Vats question
Shoebox has a VATS bypass wiring diagram. That would eliminate the wiring to the steering column. Wouldn't eliminate the box though:

Re: Vats question
I'm wanting to get rid of everything. If the programming wont do it. I think I can just get rid of it by giving the pcm a constant fuel and ignition permissive feed. Just thought I would see if anyone has done it.
Re: Vats question
I would think that programming it out of the computer would keep you from having to fake the signal from the VATS module to the computer. The VATS module cares about the key reading and the computer cares about what the VATS tells it. The computer doesn't care about the key reading (directly).
