Re: remove ac and heater
You remove the complete compressor, with the clutch and pulley. Then you replace it with an "AC delete" pulley and bracket from a 1LE model. You may need a different size belt, depending on the dimensions of your original compressor pulley.
Then you can remove the condensor, sitting in front of the radiator, and all the piping, dryer, etc. Finally, you can pull the evaporator coil out of the box on the firewall. Unfortunately that requires you to start inside the car, working your way through the dash, and removing the heater coil to get to the evap coil. If you are removing the heat as well, its gonna have to be done that way.
Then you can remove the black plastic box that intrudes into the engine compartment, and get a cover plate from Billingsly Racing.
Think twice before removing the system completely.... its helpful to have defroster. Wouldn't want to pull up to the staging lanes with the windshield fogging up

Re: remove ac and heater
And if there's still freon in the system, take it somewhere to have it properly removed. That's stuff's pricey and sometimes they won't charge you for it because they can resell what they recover from your car.
