putting the pig on a diet

well, putting the LT1 on a diet
its a 94 t-top z28 a4
im thinking of stuff like this
fiberglass hood
racing seats
weld-rims
removing the spare
air/egr delete

wondering what else i can get away with, the car is a DD, but will be seeing the track regularly once the motor gets in. I'd like to get it to 3250 curb weight
(i weigh 190, so i figure 3400 or so race weight)

PLEASE post in the correct forum. LT1/LT4 Engine Tech is for "engine" questions. May also want to try a "search" because this question gets asked frequently, and there are several threads with links to a detailed list on the LS1Tech boards.

I got mine down to 3300 without me. I removed the spare and jack, all seats except the heavy drivers seat, and the front sway bar. I just did this for raceing only so most of that stuff is back on.

Deleting the A/C system will free up alot of weight in the front of the car. Also, keeping your gas tank at a 1/4 tank at the track will save quite a few pounds as well.

My car is 3610 with me in it and I am 200 pounds (202 today at the doctor office)...

Rear seats are removed
No spare
No carpet insulation
No air bags
No air conditioning
Cragar lightweight two piece rims
Front skinnies
No bumper supports (front or rear)
Kirkey aluminum layback buckets (2)
No radio
No air pump
No front sway bar
Aluminum LPE driveshaft
No center console ( just a shifter bolted to the floor)

There is however a 6 point welded bar (but no subframe connectors)
12 bolt rear
383 LT1
700R4 transmission
Summit driveshaft safety loop

The car is a standard Z28 coupe (no t-tops). I have no idea how you guys get your cars so light when mine is so heavy...
