problems with my sec. system
hi,
my alarm keeps going off when i lock my door, even if i just push the locks manually,my car is a 97 z28,all the options, including keyless entry,i need to get new remotes as well, "i guess" my 1 remote doesnt work at all,and my other one works after pushing it about 10 times, anyways,it is a big pain when you get out of the car and lock it,and get about 10 ft away, and the alarm goes off, anyone else had this problem???i was going to take it to the local gm shop, but wanted to try and find it through here first,im sure it will cost a arm and leg there.thanks guys for any and all help,

The alarm going off just after arming usually means the shock sensor is going bad. You can try turning down the sensitivity - or even just unplug it and see if it stops to tell. Don't know what's going on with your remotes - maybe just the batteries? I'd get new batteries and try reprogramming them before getting new ones. I hear you can get them at Wallymart.

with the remotes, you may need to open them up and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser as well

The shock sensor is on the wheel well where the spare tire is. Turn the **** counter clockwise to decrease sensitivity. If you don't have an owners manual reprogramming instructions are here: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#1996/keyless
