Power Window Problems

Ok guys...I have a problem with my power windows...the drive side works fine...but the passenger side doesnt work from the drivers controls, only the passenger controls...but then, it randomly will not go back up unless I bang on the door panel...It sounds like a wiring problem, but I have no idea what to meter and no wiring diagram to go off of...any suggestions?

Wrong forum, but try replacing the button panel first. They wear out.

Sounds like the switch, you can always pop it up and double check to make shouure you have a good connection though.

PLEASE post on the correct forum... questions about power windows do not belong on LT1/LT4 Engine Tech.

I would try replacing the window switch first. It should be under $10 from a dealer, and only take you 1 minute to replace. Better yet, try switching the switched from the passenger side to the drivers side. That should be able to tell you if its a switch, or if its something more.

+1 for Shoebox. Many successful power window motor installs thanks to the help of your site.

Me thinks its the regulator since the window goes up when you bang on the door.

+1 on that.

But to save the pain in the *** of having to change the motor, definitely try taking your switch from your passenger side to the drivers side and vice versa and see if it still gives you the same problem.

Remember that the harness has to be plugged into both switch panels in order for either side to work when you are testing it. Hope you get what I meant.

And another kudos to shoebox. Your site was a god send when I changed my window motors. I knew exactly where to drill
