which plug wires?

Alright just to let everyone know yes I did search and I didn't find out what I wanted.
Anyway the MSD's I have in my car are arching so I'm going to swap them out in my 1994 Trans Am. The story behind that is I just got my plugs and opti replaced and I'm guessing my mechanic didn't place the wires the way they were so they burned on the headers, which are the Mac mid-length style. Anyway I'm wanting to know what you guys think about the Moroso wires that are engine specific for the LT1 because that is what I really wanted? Like I said I did search but only found like 2 people that had anything to say about the Moroso's. Or if I should stick with the MSD's? Also what would you guys reccomend as far as the engine specific wires or the universals that you have to crimp yourself?

Lastly I'd like to know if it would be worth it to add an MSD ignition to my car? it is a full bolt on car as of now but after winter I will be getting my cam and heads and all other valvetrain parts installed. I'm tired of them just sitting in my room in boxes!

I've had friends that have mainly used either MSDs, Taylors, or just stock Delco wires. Taylor makes a universal wire kit as well that allows you to cut and crimp your own wires. I don't know too much about the Morosos. An MSD box would probably benefit you more if you were running some sort of forced induction.

I put the AC Delco wires back on mine earlier this year. Figured they lasted 180,000 miles, why put new ones back in.

Re: which plug wires?

I ran the Accel 9000s for years, but switched last year to the Taylors and made an OVC set up with them and so far no issues. Doing it all over again I think I'd get the Universal Accel 9000s with the Taylor opti ends and make an OVC wire set up with the Accels because of the coating on the boots...

I've put Accel 9000s on 2 LT1s. One with headers and one with manifolds. Both have held up fine.

Re: which plug wires?

I bought a set of Taylor 8mm Spiro wires. I was not impressed. The first set I bought arced like crazy and the replacement set works fine but at low rpm in high gear, 4th and 5th, it will "buck" if I give it more that about 1/3 throttle. Next time I'll just get AC Delco stock replacements. The 8mm wires also are a pain to run and won't fit in the factory dividers/seperators. Good Luck.

Re: which plug wires?

I've run both the MSD 8.5 and the Accel 9000 8mm; I prefer the Accel 9000's. They resist heat damage better and I found the spark plug boots too soft on the MSDs (prone to ripping).

I've run Moroso Blue Max wires for a while and I really like them. Cheap too!

I think I'm just gonna go with the Morosos because only one person has used them so far and I want to find out about them and the only way to do that is to run them. Thanks for everyones opinions though

Mine allow the car to "buck" on ocasion, a short tap in on the gas solves it, but it's a PITA

I'd love to upgrade to the 8MM But the V6 wires are a pain to access and I'm affrade they wont fit in the looms, is their a aftermarket loom that works with the Camaro?

Re: which plug wires?

I have used msd 8.5mm before and after my header install. I was quite carefully when routing them to protect them from being burned. Thus far they have worked fine.
