no Rear Window Defogger?

no Rear Window Defogger?

well i just got a camaro the other day and it has no defogger, is there a way i can install one w/o getting a whole new hatch? or rig up a heater or something?

i didnt realize no defroster was an option i'd say your best bet is to find a hatch off a junker...

wow, no rear defroster... i remember those days in my firebird, early mornings were always fun... i dunno how i ever drove with it fogged up that bad now that i have rear defrost in my Z =/ well gl installing your own rear defroster

I dont have a rear defroster either, I've driven it in the winter a bit too, usually if i turn on the heater, it'll clear up that rear glass pretty well. I guess you'll have to find out if the wiring for the rear defroster is still included and you'd just have to add the switch and new rear glass i suppose. if you decide to look it up, please inform me of your findings.

haha i have one and it dont work. it torments me...you push the button 15 seconds later the light gos out and it didnt defrost anything.

its just the switch? I always figured it would be more involved then that so i never bothered.

The timer is built into the switch.


The system consists of the fuse, grid and timer switch. I guess you could try a heavier fuse first, but the only other thing it could be is the switch.

thats what she does is turn on the heater but, she doesnt like having the heater on that long...

without replacing the entire hatch can i replace the glass or add the electical heating element

Early morning driving I dont turn on the defoger, it kinda works as tinted glass for me so I dont get the reflection from headlights
