rear defroster

My car has no rear defroster. the rear glass doesnt have those little lines across it. Now how difficult would it be to get one put in. Lets say I get my hands on a rear glass with the filaments for the rear defroster? what would be involved? would i have to run wiring to it? or is it already there? what about the wiring to the switch, that I'd have to get put in?
