My 69 starter has the 1108367 part number, but has this date code: 8 M 5. What is the M? I thought A thru L denoted Jan. thru Dec.

 

Unfortunately, hardly anyone left here, other than a few 4th Gen stragglers.

I'll take a stab at it. I believe on GM assembled (as opposed to cast) parts like starter, alternator, etc, the letter “I” was skipped, making the 13th letter “M” December. Might be worth checking other sources to verify.
