Question rear tint removal + rear defrost

Has anyone had a rear tint job that was done over a rear window with defrost removed? My 98 Z28 has the back window tinted, but also has the rear defrost. Basically the reason I want to remove it is so I can get it redone, and sand off those little black bubble things on the top prior to this. It looks terrible across the top 6 inches because of those damn black bubbles on the window I've asked 2 shops locally about removing it, and neither of them would guarantee that they wouldnt destroy the rear defrost in the process. Thanks.

all you gotta do is get some tint remover and just peel it off. wal mart has the remover, and to start peeling it off, use a razor and get under the tint. as for the defroster peeling, i wouldnt worry about it too much. the remover is a spray that helps the removal of the glue.

dont peel downward, peel side to side, that will help prevent the defroster stay in place

i had to take mine off too. i used simple green, razor (for the edges) and a heat gun to help the glue release from the window and peeled it off. i didn't have any problems with my rear defroster.
