I had a squeeky drive belt for a long time, tried replacing it with a gatorback, changing the idler pulley to no avail. Then found that the water pump had a small leak that was getting fluid on the belt when the car was stopped making it slippery and squeeking when the car starts. So if you have a squeeky belt you can't fix, take a damn close look at the waterpump...
