according to the temp gauge, my stat is working...i dunno if i just wanna bypass the sensor though?

Well, you can unplug it and light will stay off - try taking it out and cleaning it, may or may not work - or buy a new one. Think they're like $55 GM list.

yeah the only reason i just don't say "f it" and unplug it is cause i'm not one to check my fluids and tire pressure and what not that often so it's nice to have a sensor to tell me when it's low...i'll prolly just deal with the light going on and off till i can afford to buy a new one (damn post college depression)

Don't be scared away by the dealer list price... there are online sources that will sell it for way less. They referred you to Shoebox's site for the info on the sensor. His parts list shows:

1994-1997coolant level sensor (2 way plug) - 10096163 - $23.35

1994-95 coolant level sensor (8 way plug) - 12135027 - $18.54

(Not sure how often he updates the pricing, and you will have to add shipping.)

He also has contacts for discounted GM parts listed on his site.
