what a normal idle for a 02 a4 ls1 camaro

I have an '01 A4.
In park she usually sits at about 600, and 500 in drive.

Usually, they only set the M6 idle at 800rpm. Typically, the A4's are 550 in drive and 650rpm in neutral. Not sure of the specifics on the LS1's, but 800rpm sounds too high for an automatic.

yea it idle at about 500 but i thought that was kind of low considering my 98 ss was idling at about 700-800

500 would be on the low side, particularly if your tach is like everyone else's (at least on the LT1 cars) and reads higher than actual RPM.
