Ignition switch or fuel pump relay?

What all happens when the fuel pump relay goes bad? This happened once before but the car eventually started after messing with the positive (+) junction box by the battery. But this time it did not help. Anything associated with the key-on position does not work.

-No gauge action
-No fuel pump prime
-Cannot roll up windows
-No starter engagement etc...
-Turning the key in any position is usless

But...when the key is inserted and the door open, it still dings letting you know the key is in the ignition. The headlights, interrior lights and horn work. So there is power.

I ended up having to get the car towed back to the house because the staff at O'Reilly's sucks *** and wouldn't let me borrow a phillips screw driver to get to where the fuel pump relay is to see if that was the problem. A$$holes.

With all those symptoms, I would not be solely looking at the fuel pump relay. Sounds like the ignition switch or the connection to it. There is a guide for replacement on my Tech Page.

Jeez...took down the knee bolster and left the key in the on position and reached up to the ignition switch and wiggled the wires that plug into the switch around and everything came on. Loose connection. I'll probably drop the column to take a closer look and make sure everything is snug. I hate stupid $hit.

You can probably bet that the connector has gotten hot and is losing it's grip. (see the picture of one of the connectors in my ignition switch guide)
