I hope i found my Cruise Control problem. I do have some ?'s

I was surfing the net trying to find interior option colors for 4th gens when i found this info on a 4th gen Q&A page.

Q: Why has my cruise control suddenly stopped working?

A: Check the third brake light. It seems some cars with a blown brake bulb will disable the cruise control system. If this is not the problem, then check with your dealer as there is a Technical Service Bulletin (#569002A) for this which calls for replacement of the cruise control module with an updated one. Apparently, the stepper motor is too sensitive to input from the brake pedal switch causing it not to work at all.

Now i know my 3rd brake light isn't burnt out. What i'm wondering is does anyone know what year cruise control modules would be an upgraded one that will work in my 95 Z28? Thanks.

I don't know which module will work, but there is one other thing that you can check. On my 94 the cruise quit working. It was under warrantee, so the dealer found the problem. It was a high resistance short in the third stop light wiring connector at the top of the hatch/roof. It was not enough to keep the light from working, but the cruise saw the current drain and thought the brake was on. They cleaned up the connection and plugged it back in. No more problem. It may not be the problem, but it may be a cheap solution.

Good Luck,

PJ

Does anyone know? I'm wondering will a cruise control module out of a LS1 car work? I think the problem is steming from my 98+ spoiler. I have a relay wired into the spoiler to keep my ABS light off but, my cruise control problems didn't start until i installed it.
