madz tuning question

madz tuning question

this might sound stupid.......will the car pass emissions with the mad z tuning? its obd2 so all they do is plug it in to the comp, need to know before i send the old one back to ion.

It should... usually exhaust changes are the biggest killer on emissions, the main one being the cat of course. You may want to talk to Ion before hand because making the engine run cooler can also have an impact on how much junk comes out the exhaust. It's one of the reasons the LT1 runs so hot, that and mpg.

Same answer. The LS1 might be a little bit easier, actually. The overall temperature diff. from stock will be smaller since alum. blocks suck heat out faster, so you'd probably see less of an increase in emissions. Just don't get any emissions equipment disabled (although the 01 has less than previous vehicles)...

well, no more rear o2 sensors!!! im gonna keep the old comp just in case
