How to get plug wires out of loom?
How to get plug wires out of loom?
I'm changing the plugs/wires on my 95 Z28, and had no trouble except getting the stock wire out of it's loom. Do you have to break the thing to get the wires out?
Also is there anything special to putting the boots on the opti and plug? I'm completely new to this so sorry for the dumb questions.

Re: How to get plug wires out of loom?
Are you asking how to get the wires at the back of the drivers side head out from under the metal shields that hold them against the block? There's nut that can be loosened to allow the metal shield to be pulled back. Hard to reach, but it can be done.
Re: How to get plug wires out of loom?
If you have to break it to get it out, how do you plan on getting it in? There is a dielectric grease you can put on there that will prevent corrosion/moisture. ARe you talking about the lookm that go around the ac lines? It just takes alot of pulliing and wiggling. It took me 3 hours to do the drivers side, like 20 minutes for pasenger.

Get the stock wire out of what.... the metal shields?.... the channels in the bracket on the passenger side of the Opti?..... the little plastic clips that hold 2 or 3 wires in groups? I don't think anyone really understands your question, at least I don't.
Re: How to get plug wires out of loom?
I'm sorry, it's the plastic peice that holds the 4 wires together between the opti and where they connect to the plugs. I thought it was called a wire loom.
Re: How to get plug wires out of loom?
If its those plastic looms they auctually open up. One of the sides clips together and the other side is hinged. So take a small screwdriver and open the one side up and you can get the wires out. then you put the new wires in and you can snap the loom back together.. Did i make any sense in describing that?
