I know this may sound dumb but I just can't figure this out! How do I tighten the little bolt thing that the back seat locks onto? I'm talking about where the backrest locks onto, not the actual seat. I've looked under the panels and I just can't find a nut or anything.

 

are you talking about the little shaft the top of the seat rests on?

 

The "bolt thing" is a bolt, with a Torx head. You get the right size Torx-head bit and tighten it by turning it clockwise like any other bolt.

 

Yes its the little shaft that the back seat rests on. As for just tightening it, it doesn't work because it feels like there is a little nut or something that needs to be held but I can't find it so I don't know how right I am about that

 

it is possible that the welded nut it screws into broke loose, or striped, take the seat out of the car, flip it over and see if you can figure it out

 

I still can't find out whats wrong! HELP ME!!!

 

It threads into a boss in the side panel sheet metal. Is it possible the boss that it threads into is stripped? Did you possibly over tighten it? Have you hammered the wheel wells for wide tires, because that part of the sheet metal is right behind where you need to hammer.
