Exclamation HELP!!! LT1 Problem after TB BYPASS

newbie who needs help, just finished the throttle body bypass and when I turned the car on I had the service engine on, I went for a little spin and I noticed that when I switched from park to reverse the car slammed and the same thing happened when I switched to drive. Then when i decided to put my foot down it was NOT responding as usual, I could not feel the pull. Help I am wondering if it is my optispark, like if I spilled coolant on it or on something else.

Have you checked your MAP, TPS, and IAC plugs to make sure you didn't pull one loose while doing the mod? They are all right there in that general vicinity

Pull the code that turned on the SES light.... odds are its for the connector you forgot to plug in or a wire you damaged. If you included the year of your car, I would have told you how to pull the code. There are 4 different setups - 93, 94, 95 and 96/97.

You also need to add info about your car. Set up a "Signature" with basic info - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods.

Re: HELP!!! LT1 Problem after TB BYPASS

Find someone with an OBD-I scanner, or use software like TTS DataMaster:

TTS Power Systems

In the meantime, check the sensors listed above. I wouldn't worry about the IAC motor at this point, because it's an actuator, not a sensor, and there are no codes/SES light for it in OBD-I. Also check the MAF sensor harness and the coolant temp sensor (in the water pump housing) harness.
