Racetronix Fuel System w/ 255 LPH High-Pressure Fuel Pump and Series II Plug-&-Play Wiring Harness (includes chassis ground & booster pump plug-&-play option), LT1 F-body $249.95

Racetronix 255 LPH High Pressure Fuel Pump Assembly, in-tank wiring & installation hardware, LT1 F-body $160.00

Re: fuel pump

I didn't read enough convincing feedback in order to purchase the 90.00 harness, so I went for option B and just bought the pump by itself. The nice thing though is Thunderracing sells both the harness and pump seperately or as a kit so if the need for the harness comes up in the future, then I can always get it then.

Re: fuel pump

The Racetronix harness basically provides a direct connection from the alternator to the fuel pump which results in a greater voltage supply as compared to the factory wiring harness.

Re: fuel pump

You can read up on the wiring benefits on the Racetronix site; basically besides a higher voltage source from the alternator, the larger gauge wire reduces voltage loss over the length of the wire (back to the fuel pump).

A fuel pump's output is directly related to the voltage it's being run at. They're output rating is based on 12V, if you're seeing less that 12V due to voltages losses, the pump's not going to generate the same output.
