Fuel Filter
Fuel Filter
Hey there,
Still kind of new at this but here goes. I have a 91 Z28, it has been running a little rough. It seems to be at about 30 mph and I get on the gas. Has like a spudder without a lot of power. Got to thinking that maybe it might be the clogged fuel filter. I think I should replace it anyway. Is there a walk thru here on how I should go about this without making a crater and me part of it
Thanks

i don't know a great deal about 3rd gens, so this will serve as a bump more than anything.
when i first started doing basic maintenance like fuel filters, i headed over to the local library for a chilton's book on my car. they are pretty weak compared to factory service manuals, and sometimes you have to look around in different sections to find torqure values, but it should suffice for replacing a fuel filter. hopes this helps, and someone else will probably chime in with an online step-by-step

Yeah it's not a big deal, the worst part is getting the car high enough to do it without going into unnatural positions with your arms. It's in a really awkward position to get to in a third gen, but just be sure to open your gas cap to let off pressure and do it pretty quick if you can. It takes two wrenches or whatever you want to use to take the nut off.
