found 69 Z is it real?
i recently discovered a 69 z28 under a car cover in a garage. I have spoken with owner once briefly and he assures me it is a real 302 z28. It has two options i did not think came on a z.
It has an automatic transmission and air conditioning.
I have not taken down the vin to decode but can you enlighten me if these options could be
secondly, where is the best site to decode the vin once i get it
any info would be appreciated. If there is another website that could help me better pass it on as well,
Thank, Gary

Absolutly no 1969 Z/28 came from the factory with either an automatic transmission or air conditioning, period. The VIN , however could reflect an authentic Z and the one you are talking about could be one of these, but one that's been reworked.

Look for an X code on the cowl tag. It should be an X33 or X77. It will not have an X-code if the car was built in Norwood before 12-31-68 or any Z/28 built in L.A. If it has either X33 or X77, it is a real Z/28 unless the cowl tag was switched. It also must have front disc brakes. No front drum brakes, no auto transmission nor air conditioning ever came on the 1969 Z/28. These are just a few 1969 Z/28 facts in determining a real Z/28. There are more.
