What year Z28? Gen 1 SBC, Gen 2 SBC, LSx-series?????
Guessing its an LT1, yes you can put it in, and I can direct you to a link. You will need an electric water pump, and some machine work on the timing cover. And, in the link, you will see where the guy couldn't stand the noise (it was a "silent" Pete Jackson set) and ripped it out after a few months.
In a recent feature in Engine Masters magazine, they compared timing drives - traditional chain, gears with and without floaters, and belt - and there was no significant advantage for any system, and no HP gains (+/- less than 1HP average on a 600HP engine). Some systems are easier as far as advancing or retarding the cam timing, but that doesn't sound like something you will need to do with a stock engine.
Suggestion - Turn the "caps lock" off. The software doesn't allow all caps, and ends up capitalizing only the first letter of each word, causing the post to look a bit odd.

I had a noisy gear drive in my engine for one day then ripped it out. Even in my race car it was annoying. A good chain drive is all you need. Of course if I had the money, a Jesel belt drive would be installed.
