Dyno numbers/questions gm847

Hey guys just have a few questions . I have an lt1 ported heads w/larger valves (2.00, 1.56) 1.6 rockers, jet hot long tubes with high flow catts into a gmmg with the gm847 cam. Forged bottom which I believe is a 355. All of this running through a 4l80e, yes the 80e not the 60e and the Dana 60. Oh and the mallory ignition box. So currently I put down 350 HP 300tq to the wheels. Redline was set at 6500. I can adjust redline with the Mallory.

Even with the 4l80e and Dana 60 I feel these numbers may still be a little low. So my questions are,

1.) The cam was all top end above 4k, is 6500 red line way to low for this cam? I hear it pulls in upwards of 7200rpm

2.) If my redline is too low what kind of gains will I see from a few 100 rpms

3.) Stock throttle body is suppose to be ported to a 52mm if it is not is this affecting me in anyway and if so should I just go aftermarket 52mm or 58mm?

With this setup t56 users are putting down around 400-420 wheel and 4l60e's usually 380-390 maybe. Its very similar to the LE2 setup. In all honestly with my tranny even 370 would satisfy me.

In advance I apologize for grammatical errors and/or spelling errors at almost 3am and all typed on my smart phone lol.

Thank u,
bobby

Re: Dyno numbers/questions gm847

I wouldn't suspect the Dana as contributing to high drivetrain losses. It's far more efficient (5% loss) than the 12-bolt (7%) or the 9-inch (10%). What kind of stall are you running? Is it a locking converter?

Do you have a dyno sheet? 300 lb-ft sounds very low. To make 350HP with only 300 lb-ft of peak torque, you would have to reach the peak of 300 lb-ft at 6,128RPM.

thank you for the response injuneer. I agree with all that you said. One of the reasons I chose the Dana 60 was for that reason. I had a feeling someone would ask for the graph. I know I have it I just have to take a look for it.

Re: Dyno numbers/questions gm847

Its a 3k stall thats all i know if it is its a really Tight stall... I'm told its a nitrous stall and that it tends to 'loosen" up when spraying. In all honesty I shoulda did the work myself. I'm beginning to contemplate on some things being slightly exaggerated. I know this is a little off topic. I knew the guy a few years. He built some awesome lt1s . He did a great job on installing the 4l80e and dana. I also seen the short block and i have a friend who personally himself seen the shortblock being assembled for my car. The only thing I didn't witness was the head and intake work. He had my car for a long time so I started pressuring him to get it moving . This is where I feel something may have went a miss. I know at least 90% of the work was done bc I bought the parts and I know they are on the car lol. I know a lot of of the people associated with the guy who built my car so if there was some dirty dealing I'd have known about it so maybe I'm just over thinking . But anyways let me find this graph.

I could only find this one graph not sure where the others are . Come to think about it on another Dyno that's known to give high numbers stock with catback I did 262hp 278tq I think so very small gain in the tq section. What would factor this? My peak rpm is higher on the graph than I remember...

Re: Dyno numbers/questions gm847

Kinda bumping this thread. I know it's been a while and I haven't had a whole lot of time for the car.

I know we said that the tq is low for my settup.
What would cause this?
Also I'm not sure if it was leaking at the time but I do have some transmission oil leaking. It's not a huge leak but spots here and there.

Haven't checked under the inspection cover but it seems to be coming from there. Would bad seals to the converter cause this?

Re: Dyno numbers/questions gm847

Would a bad VSS effect dyno runs?
