Re: Driving the hell out of it!!!
I would have a field day.
427 ci LSx engine with a wild cam, dry sump
9" Ford rear + diff cooler
and the rest of the drivetrain in between. + trans oil cooler
and the best cooling system
has to be able to survive extended roadracing and highspeed runs.. not simply street and drag.
at LEAST 17x11 wheels all around.. Maybe 18x12's out back and the mods to make them fit.. wrapped in roadracing rubber.
biggest porsche brakes you can fit all around
functional brake ducts to cool them off.
Suspension, I would contact whatever and get them to build whatever is the latest in greatest in PROVEN competative roadracing for 4th gens.
body, Something along the lines of that blue GMPP 4th gen Camaro.. I would definantly change it to be a front breather (instead of bottom).. do some serious aero analysis, for wings and a rear diffuser. Ground effects would have to be functional, so that means the ends would hang millimeters off the ground and be made out of "sacrificial" rubber, cause they are going to grind against the ground a bit.. for max effect. Custom body panels for max effort roadracing/high speed runs.
Interior.. Keep the 4th gen dash. Thats it. Replace gauges with a MOTEC system, and put in a data logger.
Custom roadracing cage. Latest steeringwheel seat, harness, restraints, safety roadracing stuff installed. lexan glass..
I'd rip all the carpet and interior panels, and simply make it look like clean flat shiny sheet metal inside.
paint.. up to you. I would have to think hard on that. Custom chroma paint may be neat. (not that crappy generic purple-blue stuff though.. I'm thinking maybe metallic blue and red shifting.. its supposidly possible to make any color combination.. just incrediablly expensive to custom order)
Of course, then it needs to be actually raced out on various events and exibition classes. By me.. and perhaps by a pro driver to get the best times possible.
After its proven, then it would go out on a pro tour..
MIght not be "comfortable" enough for pro tour though.... but it fits the extreme g-machine.. maybe even a stretch, the old transam racing series look back in the late 60's... except done with modern tech and design.
